Rubbish

I’ve been waiting for a day 
Waiting for forever 
To have something big to say 
Powerful and clever 
There’s a boy inside of me
With a tongue that’s made of leather 
There’s somebody teaching me 
How to put my words together 

But the sky is so dry
My eyes are too big
I keep looking past it 
I keep looking 

For rubbish
I’ll sell you all of my rubbish 
Rock and roll rubbish
And I’ll tell you about it
Someday 

I’ve been spending time alone
I don’t know if I’m a natural
I’ve been spending time at home 
With a memory for a castle 
There’s a boy inside of me 
With cardboard teeth
He doesn’t like to show them 
To anybody 

The sky is so dry

I could spend my life in it
But I’ll have to wait and see
